Recognition Awards

There are several ways we recognize the children at Field elementary school.  Individual teachers recognize and reward positive behavior in different ways throughout the school day.  More formally, there are a few awards that allow the school to honor an individual child.

POSITIVE PERSON AWARDS
We recognize children who follow the school rules each week with our Positive Person Awards. These awards are given to children for following the school rules and being model students. These award tickets are earned throughout the week and are placed in the positive person collection box located outside of the school office.  At our weekly assembly, held each Friday morning at 8:45 on the playground, ten children are randomly selected from all of the positive person awards received this week.  There are many opportunities for our students to earn Positive Person awards.

STUDENT OF THE MONTH
Each month one student is chosen within each classroom to receive the student of the month award.  This award recognizes children who have consistently been a model students and/or have made good progress toward a goal.  These awards are given on the last Friday of each month at our morning assembly.

CITIZENSHIP
At the close of the first and second semesters, each teacher chooses one or two students to receive a citizenship award.  This award is given to children who consistently follow school rules, have been model citizens, and who have gone above and beyond expectations to be positive members of the community.

GO GETTER AWARDS
This semester award is reserved for students who have made a considerable effort to grow in an area and who have shown a consistent desire to continue improvising and making progress toward a goal.  This award is given at the end of the first and second semesters to as many students in 1st - 5th grade classrooms that meet the criteria.

HONOR ROLL
Every 1st through 5th grade student student who has maintained appropriate behavior and who has earned a 4 or 5 (grades 1 - 3) and A or B (grades 4 and 5) in the core content areas (language arts, math, science, and social studies) will be placed on the honor roll.  This award is given at the end of the first and second semesters.

FIELD'S FINEST
The Fields Finest award is given to one student in each class who has not only performed academically but who has also been a model student and citizen throughout the year.  The Field's Finest student has had a positive effect on the classroom and embodies the expectation of being kind, respectful, and responsible.  This award is given during an evening dinner assembly provided by the After Hours (formerly Sunrise) Rotary Club.
